Sterling Silver Hallmarks

Here are a couple of hallmarks for your perusal. The first is from an old looking, small, 2 piece spoon. The second is from a grapefruit spoon. Somewhere I have a book on silver marks and will see what I can figure once I find it. On either, knowing the maker would be helpful.

  1. Much has been learned. One thing I learned (well, I knew all along) is that many people prefer a private email to a public post (comment) by way of communication. Whatever works, but I still prefer you using the comment feature so all can benefit without me having to retype. ;-)

The grapefruit spoons are from Arthur Price & Co of Birmingham. They were in business from 1928-1947. These particular spoons are date stamped 1936.

The other spoon, perhaps a condiment spoon, is stamped JTH over JHM which is the mark of John Thomas Heath and John Hartshorne Middleton, later to be renamed Hukin & Heath.
The Johns started out in Birmingham in 1896 then moved to London. This spoon is date stamped 1904 with the London hallmark.
